The All-County Athletic Awards has a history in our high school sports community. Since 1964, The Miami Herald has celebrated the athletic and academic achievements of our finest high school student-athletes by presenting the All-County awards banquet. Over the years we have honored all-county athletes in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties in 17 high school sports categories. Top scholar-athletes, coaches of the year for individual sports and the prestigious Athlete of the Year award are some of the categories awarded to more than 800 athletes and coaches. Nominees are carefully selected by the Miami Herald's high school sports writers and editors. Each year the event hosts over 2,000 attendees at this very special occasion.
